POS Tale n.º 5 - Two Navy Apocs on D-Scan Captain!

POS Tale n.º 5 - Two Navy Apocs on D-Scan Captain!

We had been beaten by the Darkspawn POS, but it still presented itself as a viable opportunity for a ninja kill, so we went back. This time though, I wanted not to risk 200 mil ships, and Retribution patch was already here, so we took some Shield T1 Cruisers, Sabre and 2 Ospreys with energy chain.

Once scout enters he spots a Machariel on a anomaly… Gang started salivating like a mad dog, but those things are hard to catch. Nevertheless, scout warped on Anomaly and Machariel immediately warped Station. Only then we realized we had been dumb!

We had a Sabre on gang, and the anomaly was on the same celestial group of the ingate. We could have catched the Machariel if the Sabre had jumped, warped station at 70km or so, send a Warp Disruption Probe, and only THEN throw the scout to scare the Machariel!!!!!! We had just lost a golden kill and our FC got pissed at himself for not realizing it on time… Again maybe next time.

Still, we were here and eager to kill something before bailing out, so we went to camp the H6-EYX gate for a bit and see what happens. We had some movement on both system on D-Scan, until someone says:
“Hey, seems to be a Dominix on the Jump Bridge”
We could take that, and once we reunited all the fleet to warp in as a group someone says:
“It jumped out…”.

Morale were getting low. Even though we had lost nothing, we just kept loosing targets around. That is even more frustrating than dying sometimes.

We were about to move out and another fella makes himself hear:
“Guys, 2 Apoc Navy issues on scan towards the Jump Bridge!”

That was it! We were going in no matter what. This time we all (including logi) warped in at 0km on the Jump Bridge bookmark. The Navi Apocs were at 0km too, so we spread points, bubbled up, and shot the damn thinks. They tried to slow boat to the POS, and a Tengu showed up to help them, but our logi held wonderfully and the fleet kept pretty much operational, even though we had couple losses (who cares, 2 Navy Apocs down!!!).

When guys opened the wrecks to loot, comms just exploded!
“OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! They were faction and OFFICER fitted! Hell Yeah”

Two 15+Billion fitted Navy Apocalypses. I don’t gank that every day…

We quicky got the fleet off the POS and headed back home, avoiding any kind of enemy contact whatsoever for the 1st time I can remember.
Those were probably THE ganks for the EVE career of most pilots on that fleet. They surely were for me.

One final word to Mustydude, A4D corp mate, who was keeping eyes on H6-EYX and did not entered on the Killmails, but was also instrumental on the hunt, while making sure we were not surprised by an enemy gang.
